The Challenge

The Movember Foundation is worldwide active in improving the the health of men and especially focused on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. The ultimate goal is to improve the lives of men and save lives over the whole world.

AXE is also committed to men’s health and focuses on testicular cancer, the most common type of cancer in young men. That’s why AXE stimulates all men to regularly Check their balls, this can be found on the back of the AXE Movember products.

DesignBoard helped with the awareness of this health issue and was asked to create not only on-pack communication but also relevant promotional elements.

Concept & Solution

The month of November was used to convey a message. Men who let their moustache grow for this period support the Movember cause.

A strong visual identity was created using the moustache as a theme.

A series of social-media films were produced to expand awareness. Beginning with a teaser, and later a promo for Axe products.


To increase awareness, promotional socks were designed as a give-away when purchasing Axe products. In combination with an in-store display, on-line banners and social-media. 

Even one of our team went unshaven for a month!
